My Creation of a Thanksgiving Turkey with Rifle

Dear Gentle Reader,

Today my art version of the Thanksgiving Turkey who has decided to arm himself in self-defense. He stands dressed to the nines in his home with his family photos behind him with a rifle under his wing; he has class and good taste. He is a gentleman's turkey, he has a pocket watch. He is keeping up with the time before "Turkey Day."

This funny idea came to me as a person that has raised fowl; chickens, ducks and turkeys all of my life. Turkeys have so much personality. You have heard the expression that someone does not have scenes enough to get out of the rain; well, a turkey will stand in the rain and look upward if you don't make them get into their house. It is not that the turkey is not smart, they just do things that make you go, "hmm." They do seem to be problem solvers but I think they are fascinated as to why water falls out of the sky.

My creation is a digital image showing some of the beauty of the turkey. The male turkey has colorful skin around his face and to a female turkey the more colorful lumpy skin he has on his head the desirable his is as a mate. This facial feature of turkey-good-looks is long and has nodules in it. The color ranges from white, light blue and lavender to the darkest red.

Turkeys love to strut around in pride and look as big as they can for self defense, so they fluff up their feathers like peacocks do and dance around. It is a comical sight but also a dance to be admired by turkey fans (no pun intended). As a country girl who admires farm animals I think turkeys are the most fun to observe.

So, in conclusion gentle reader and art observer, here is my fun art creation. I put a little humor for the autumn and fall season in this art. It is created also with admiration for the country turkey. Enjoy!
